Six Bridges Book Festival presents Alex George (In the Mood to bake). Moderated by Stephanie Maxwell Newton.
Alex George
Alex George, known online as Lily P Crumbs, is a recipe developer, baker, and content creator. After being diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma at 22, she rediscovered baking during treatment as both a creative outlet and a source of stability. Her science-minded but playful approach, seen in everything from her viral cookie-ranking spreadsheet to Pop-Tart pop-ups and signature dessert riffs, has earned her a devoted following. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in New Jersey and now lives in Philadelphia.
In her debut cookbook In the Mood to Bake, Alex George, the baking content creator and recipe developer behind the beloved online baking community Lily P Crumbs, shares recipes and ideas drawing on nostalgia, imagination, and the simple joy of making something delicious, showing what happens when curiosity, science, nostalgia, and a whole lot of resilience meet in the kitchen.
