Learn some of the basic techniques and concepts of writing computer programs—and write your first program.

You don't have to be a computer genius to write code. In fact, it's a 21st Century skill everybody can benefit from! That's why Hello World: Intro to Code doesn't require any previous coding experience!

Starting from the ground up, you'll learn basic concepts and techniques of computer programming. Discover how to:

  • Write in a way computers understand
  • Store information in your programs for later use
  • Make your programs truly interactive
  • Fix problems with your code
  • Improve your programs with new features
  • And more!

This is a hybrid technology class—it will be offered in-person in the Hatcher Agency Computer Classroom on the lower level of Main Library and online as a Zoom webinar. Registration is encouraged if attending in-person; it's required if attending online.
