Central Arkansas Master Naturalists (CAMN) celebrate Oak Trees hroughout October. Learn how Oak Trees support hundreds of pollinators and other wildlife with the OAKtober library scavenger hunt in our free monthly activity pack and earn a prize.
Celebrate OAKtober with a CALS Brooks Library free Monthly Activity Pack and Scavenger Hunt and earn a reward for learning more about our Mighty Oaks. CALS Specialty Programmer Jodi Morris is also a certified Central Arkansas Master Naturalist (CAMN) and CAMN is celebrating OAK trees throughout OAKtober! Arkansas's native oak trees are a keystone species providing food and shelter for wildlife and a nursery for pollinaters. CALS Brooks Library is now open extended hours on Tuesdays, 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Special oak themed activities will be available each Tuesday evening in October, between 4:30 pm and 7pm, including:
2nd Tuesdays of the Month will be Nature Night at CALS Brooks Library. Join Jodi at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, 10/14 for a Story Walk in Millie M. Brooks Library Community Garden in the City of Wrightsville Park, followed by gardening tips for growing Oak trees and other native plants, and Oak themed arts and crafts.
4th Tuesdays of the month will be Family Fun Night. Join us on Tuesday, October 28, from 5:30 to 6:30pm, for a free game of ACORN! Bingo for all ages.

CALS Brooks Library is located in the City of Wrightsville Community Center in between the City Hall and the Gymnasium. This library branch is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 4:30 PM. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month the library stays open until 7PM and hosts an art night with free art supplies for patrons to express their creativity. A Potluck Food Rescue Distribution is held each Tuesday morning at 9:30 am while quantities last. A Be Mighty Food Pantry is located inside the library and a Little Free Pantry is located in the Wrightsville Community Center Park Lot. The Millie Brooks Library Community Garden is located in the city park behind the Community Center. The library has 4 Internet Stations for public use, free wifi, and offers copying, printing, scanning and faxing services. One study room is available for public use on a first come first serve basis. Table Top Games, an early childhood playroom, and a Video Game Room are available during regular library hours.
