Little Rock artist and art educator, Loni Harshaw, will lead participants in creating 3D protraits. Free class, registration is requested due to limited space (10 participants)
3rd Tuesdays at CALS Brooks Library is always Art Night. For October, a grant from the Windgate Foundation is providing a guest art educator, Loni Harshaw, whose art exhibit, "Storytelling Through the Arts: Banned Books & Beyond" was recently featured at Hearn Fine Arts in Little Rock. Harshaw's exhibit consists of portraits of Black authors whose books have been banned due to the author's discussion of race, racism, racial history and other forms of social injustice in their work. (October 5–11, 2025 is National Banned Book Week.) In this hands on art class, Harshaw will guide participants in creating 3D portraits. Free registration is limited to 10 participatants, ages 10 to Adult, due to space restrictions. All supplies are provided. Free pre-registration is requested.

CALS Brooks Library is located in the City of Wrightsville Community Center in between the City Hall and the Gymnasium. This library branch is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 4:30 PM. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month the library stays open until 7PM and hosts an art night with free art supplies for patrons to express their creativity. A Potluck Food Rescue Distribution is held each Tuesday morning at 9:30 am while quantities last. A Be Mighty Food Pantry is located inside the library and a Little Free Pantry is located in the Wrightsville Community Center Park Lot. The Millie Brooks Library Community Garden is located in the city park behind the Community Center. The library has 4 Internet Stations for public use, free wifi, and offers copying, printing, scanning and faxing services. One study room is available for public use on a first come first serve basis. Table Top Games, an early childhood playroom, and a Video Game Room are available during regular library hours.
