Learn how to make a zine for Banned Book Week! Use your first amendment rights and express yourself.

Nationally banned book week programs spotlight efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of that kind of censorship. Independent books like zines are part of the fight against censorship.  All materials and supplies provide. Free copies of your zine can be made for the exchange. 

All abilities are welcome. To request ASL interpretation or other accommodations, call 501.918.3069 or email hzbinden@cals.org 7 business weekdays before a program.

About the branch

Dee Brown Library is nestled in the heart of southwest Little Rock and offers patrons a wide variety of adult and children’s books as well as CDs and DVDs. The 13,500-square-feet library, which opened in 2002, provides access to public study rooms, a meeting room, and an outside deck and boardwalk that lead from Baseline Road to the library.
