Protect your privacy in the digital world. You'll learn about tools like password managers and two-step verification, and best practices for online safety.

The internet can bring all sorts of good things into our lives, but reports of tech-based fraud and security breaches can make the online world seem scary. But--just like it the real world--you can protect yourself on the internet with a few basic tools and some common sense.

In this class, you'll learn some of the those tools and techniques, such as:

  • using a password manager to protect your information online
  • creating a secure password that's easy to remember
  • signing into accounts using two-step verification, which adds an extra layer of security
  • avoiding simple mistakes that can lead to security problems online
  • and more!

This is a hybrid technology class—it will be offered in-person in the Hatcher Agency Computer Classroom on the lower level of Main Library and online as a Zoom webinar. Registration is encouraged if attending in-person; it's required if attending online.
