Ron Robinson TheaterFilm screening & author discussion.
CALS is proud to host Sapphic Cinema, a Dropping Hairpins Project 501(c)(3)-led program designed to showcase sapphic, queer, and gender-diverse stories for audiences in communities that don't always have access to queer cultural programming. Each Sapphic Cinema program pairs a film screening with conversation that brings audiences closer to the stories and people behind the work.
Red, White & Royal Blue: Based on Casey McQuiston's bestselling novel, Red, White & Royal Blue follows Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States, and Prince Henry of Britain as their public rivalry develops into an unexpected romance. The 2023 film stars Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine and was directed by Matthew López.
Following the film, bestselling author Casey McQuiston (they/them) will join the audience live virtually for a conversation and audience Q&A. McQuiston is the author of Red, White & Royal Blue, One Last Stop, I Kissed Shara Wheeler and The Pairing. Their forthcoming novella, Red, White & Royal Blue: The Private Correspondence, releases December 1. Attendees will also receive a special 24-hour opportunity to preorder a signed copy of Red, White & Royal Blue: The Private Correspondence.
