Sew & Sell: Zipper Pouch Workshop

In this hands-on class, students will sew a fully lined fabric zipper pouch while building essential sewing and construction skills.

In this hands-on class, students will sew a fully lined fabric zipper pouch while building essential sewing and construction skills. Fabric pieces will be pre-cut and prepared before class, giving everyone more time to focus on sewing and completing their project.

Students will learn how to:

• Install a zipper
• Attach a lining
• Sew straight stitches and topstitching
• Create boxed corners
• Use basic finishing techniques for a polished result

Entrepreneurship Focus

Along the way, students will also explore how a handmade item can become a sellable product. The instructor will share practical tips on choosing fabrics, calculating material costs, setting prices, maintaining quality, and creating multiple variations from one basic design.

By the end of this two-hour class, students will have completed or nearly completed their own lined zipper pouch and gained practical skills they can use for future sewing projects, handmade gifts, or products for a small business.
