A special featured event of MB’s Silent Book Club for Women’s History Month, come hear about 10 of your favorite female Arkansan authors with CALS EOA staffer, J. Jobe. Then try your hand at a few writing prompts!
New in 2026, CALS Silent Book Club is held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. A table of Library staff and volunteer media recommendations will be displayed with a dry erase board for patrons to add their recommendations and reviews. Adults are invited to bring a reuseable beverage container to enjoy coffee, tea or water along with light refreshments as they silently read or enjoy conversation about books, dvds, podcasts and other forms of media. In honor of Women's History Month, we will have a special guest speaker from CALS Encyclopedia of Arkansas, J. Jobe, to share information about 10 Arkansas Women Authors, plus writing prompts for those who wish to dare the challenge and earn a free CALS journal!
Located in the City of Wrightsville in southeast Pulaski County, CALS Brooks is the smallest branch in the CALS system. Noise cancelling earmuffs are available for those who just want to read, browse and refresh in silence. For more information, please call the library at 501-537-3186 during branch hours - Tuesdays, 9:30AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30AM to 4:30PM; or, email CALS Brooks Library at brookscals@cals.org
