Join our special guest artist, Adaja Cooper, for a collaborative, all-ages art program exploring Black Arkansas history through personal and shared memory.
Participants will paint a mini-map of Arkansas and mark meaningful places, Black history sites, or family migration stories. Through conversation and creativity, individual maps come together to tell a larger story. No art experience needed—everyone leaves with their own painted map. Materials provided.
The Central Arkansas Library System and the City of Sherwood completed construction of the new Amy Sanders Library in early 2018. The new building has 14,500 square feet of space on a heavily wooded 15-acre parcel. The setting of the building is within the existing trees and steep terrain to enhance the uniqueness of the site, bringing the outside in.
