As a part of the CALS Big Read celebration of Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude by Ross Gay, we will be on site at Oak Forest Community Garden sharing copies of the poetry collection and inviting patrons to learn more about gardening.

Ross Gay, the author of our Big Read selection Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, is gardener and advocate for community gardens. We are working with our partners at Oak Forest Community Garden to connect CALS patrons with the joys and rhythms of cultivating a garden. During their April 11th plant sale, CALS will be on site to offer free copies of the poetry collection and help facilitate a gardening demonstration with Oak Forest garden manager Mark Nelson.

Oak Forest Community Garden is located at 2600 S Monroe St, Little Rock, AR 72204 in the University Development District.

CALS Big Read 2026 is a month-long celebration of the poetry collection Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude by Ross Gay. We are hosting a series of programs to inspire meaningful conversation, explore creativity, and build community.
