Join us at Southwest Community Center! We will have oak tree facts on display, oak seedlings to give away, honey tasting and bee facts, face painting, watercolor demonstration, and much more!

Each October, people around the country celebrate oak trees by planting oak trees, volunteering, and learning more about oak trees. There are 30 species of oak in Arkansas, and some are only found in our beautiful state! Research shows that 41% of the world's 430 oak species are at risk due to habitat destruction, climate change, pests, diseases. Oaktober raises awareness of this critically important species so that we can appreciate and protect oak trees for future generations.
